No Bodies In Recovered Lorry

WESTPORT, Dec. 6. • Although the Gibbs transport lorry was recovered from the Buller river yesterday afternoon in a damaged condition, at midday today there was still no sign of Messrs. John Porter, junr. and Brian Muir, two young men who crashed with it over the Buller Gorge Road on Friday evening. The police and many helpers, including a party from Greymouth, experienced considerable difficulty in locating the truck submerged in 30 feet of^water, but it was eventually pulled clear of the water by tractor. It was thought that the bodies of Messrs. Porter and Muir would liave been found with the vehicle, but hopes of recovering them from the fast running river are now very faint.
