New Zealand Quoted As An Example
SYDNEY, Dec. 1. The economy of New Zealand was praised today at the meeting of the Economic Commission for Asia and the Par East, hy the United States Ambassador to Australia, Mr. Mvron M. Cowen. He cited New Zealand as an example of a country which had achieved a very high standard of living — which he estimated as the highest in the world — through concentrating its efforts upon agriculture and the processing of agricultural comniodities He said this when outlining before the Commission the financial commitments of the United States regarding the five-year plan of the Commission concerning reconstrnction and deVelopnient.
