Dr. Evatt Trying To Solve Berlin Dispute

Received Friday, 10.10 a.m. PARIS, NOV. 11. It is reported that .the chairmart of the United Nations General Assembly, pr. H. • V, Evatt, has /initiated a move ©p whieh top .United Nations oflflciais are now Hvorking to transfer the Berlin disbpute from the Security Council to j Ihe General Assembly, sayg the Asgociated Press correspondent, Dr. Evatt is expected to propose that the Big Four Powers consider ,the dispute, which has been dorhiant in the Security Council since the Russian veto killed the cOmpromise plans, in the light of SMexico's resolution passed in the assembly, calling on the Big Four to cbmpromise their differcpces. ' United Nations officiajs said. that Dr. Evatt began the project " ten days ago in consulation with Mr. Trygve Lie, who is making a study uf Berlin currency. It is reported that Dr. Evatt plans a four gr five hian eommittee to handle the situation. • q . Dr.' Juan Bramuglia (ArgeU'tina) has arranged a meetihg tomorrow of the "Neutral Six"-— China, Syria, Argentina, Colombp Canada arfd Belgium— presumably to inform thepi of the latest develnpments. • Sources cloSe to Dr. Evatt stressed that his approaches to the Big Four had been very tentative. The British United Press correspondent quotes Argehtine officials as saving that Dr. Blamuglia and Mr. Vyshinsky discussed Berlin Currency at lunch, It is also reported that they discussed a plan by Dr, Evatt and Mr. Trygve Lie, which envisages the - introductipn of Russian currency throughout Berlin simultaneousiy with the (lifting of the brockade.
