2ZA's New Transmitter At Kairanga
Tke New Zealand Broadeastmg Service will skortly be transmitting tkroiigli Station 2ZA on a new tra-nsniit- , ter situated at'Kairauga. .( The bpilding to house" the equipment is under colistruction at the present time and as soon as this is completed the instalia-« tion of transmitting equipment will be' carried out. Th'is was revealed at the monthly meeting of the Manawatu-Oroua Eleetric Power Board yesterday wlien the Director of the Service, Prof. J. Sheliey, wrote xequesting details as to the supply of power to the site. He is to be advised t'liat tlie power supply, will be available when the station is ready to operate. • When the new transmitter begins op; eration, the existing transmitter at station 2ZA will be dismantled, There wxll tlierefore be little increase in power consumption with the new equipment. Power requirements for the. new transmitter are 415 volts, three phase, the normal running load being 10 KV"A with a maximum load of 13 KVA. A power installation of 30 KVA is required to aliow for possible futnre install^tions. The location of the new " transmitter site is part of Bloelc X, Kairanga Sur-' vey District, with an access road oif Gillespie's Line.
