Three Men Sentenced For Robbing P.W.D.

» AUCKLAND, Nov. 9. Sentence on the three men con-: victed of robbing the Publie Works Department by means of false pay vouchers was passed by Mr. Justice Fair in the Supreme Court today. The department's losses totalled over £1000. George Malcolm Smith, aged 35, clerk, of the Public Works Department, on 11 counts of forgery, one of attempted theft and 22 of theft received two years' imprisonment with hard labour. Mate Delich, aged 58, contractor, on nine eharg'es of theft, was ordered twelve months' imprisonment. James Fullerton Brown, aged 43, salesman, on three charges of theft was released on three years' probation and ordered to pay £50 towards the cost of the prosecution.
