Housewives Have Say On Butter Question
WELLINGTON, Nov. 8. "That the Wellington Honsewives ' Association press for an extra two onnces of burter eacli week, with the proviso that t^ie extrd aniount be taken from butter exported to countries other than Great Biitain," was the text of n niotion earried at a general meeting of the association today. The opinion was/ expressed that butter rationing should not be lifted at the expense of Britain. Tt was deeided to ask the supply authorities* how manv smaller power schemes had been turned down in favour of the larger state schemes. Referring to the eleet.rification of the Hutt railway, the president of tlie associgtion, Mrs. F. Gilmore, said that housewives should not. be penalised through anv enterprise of that magnltude.
