:Hard ridden, Robin's Reward beat Ascot Lad in the last stride in the Hafitticap on Saturday, whicb drew a high-class field and proyidted a great contest. Robin's Reward was not well placed on the way Touttd; but Bi-oughton drove bim through. in the straight and he responded ^jlendidly..

As the field in tlie Levin llandieap swung into tlie back straight Sweet Nympb was in front with High Order, while next were Zeaiander, Voltaic, Barrage. Ascot Lad, Demonic, Robin's Reward, Imperial, Merry Robin and, on the outer, Beau le Ilavre. Zealander was in front at tlie half-mile, followed by Ascot Lad, Barragc, Imperial, Beau le Havre. Voltaic, Demonic, Robin's Reward. Merry Robin and Renowned. There was littlc change turiiing into tlie straight except tiiat Beau le Havre advaiiced on the outei ;uid Ascot Lad went up to challenge Zealander for the lead. Ascot Lad soon had Zealander beaten and he looked the winner till Robin's Reward came with a terrifie run and in a desperate set-to got the de.c.ision with the last stride. Barrage, wlio was third, was only a short neck away and a nose in front of Beau le Havre. Zealander was almost in line witli Beau le Ilavre and was fiftli and next were Demonic, Voltaic, Merry Robin, Imperial, Renowned, Sweet Nympli, Silver Treasure and High Order. Trafalgar Day began well and, with Franada, led to' the straight. Chatscourt moved into third place turiiing for home and cliallenged Trafalgar Day, but could not carry on, and Castlegrae came from beliind the leaders to cut them down and win decisively by a length and a half from Trafalgar Day.
