Received Monday, 10.15 a.m. LONDQN, Nov, 7. Although the Egypti^n spokesman at the United Nations denies t}ie report, the Associated Press, Tel Aviv correspondent says it is reliably reported that direct peace pegotiations on the southern front of Palestine are being held between representatives of the Egyptlan and Israeli Goverpments. A source close to the Jewish Foreign Office says the Egyptia'ns have Whittled the' peace terms down to two basic requiremepts, firstly, a guarantee to keep the Gaza coastgl strip originally allotted to Arab Palestine iil the United Nations partition plan and, secqndly, tfte Jews to waive any fnture deipgnds to reparations or dapiages as a yesult of the southern front fighting. Reuter's Tel Aviv correspondept says official sources state that the blackout precautions throughout Israeli territory in Palestine will, be lifted as from tonight. Observers consider that this indicates an easing of the Palestine situation. The war against the Arabs was as good as won. "Peace is our first aim and then work. Israel will become a big country — not geographically, but through the development of cultural values, arts and sciences."
