Godwits Arriving The '-vanguard of the godwit iflocks on their annual migration [from Siberia to New Zealand weye ! sighted over Avondale on Friday night. The birds' breeding ground 1 is Siberia,- but each spring they ^ome to New Zealand, alighting as 'far south as Stewart Island. Their arrival is usually an indication of ibetter weather to come. The godj wits spend the summer in New 'Zealand and leave. again in April !or May on their long flight to the ! North Polar regions.
