Received Friday, 11 p.m. SHANGHAI, Nov. 5. * Following their sueeesses in North China, the Communists are. getting into , their stride in South China and their aetivities there are expeeted to inerease in the near future. This view is strengthened with the derailment of "a train from Hong Kong to CantOn yesterday at a point about 40 miles from Can ton. "Reports reaehing Canton said it was a deliberate act of sabotage by bandits. . ' United States authorities in. Shanghai and Nanking, today ofiicially advised all Americans in the Kiangsu (wherem Nanking and Shanghai are situated ) and the Anhwei Provinces to (evaeuate unless they have eompelling reasons to remain. The evacuation notice said: "Military developments in North China make it appear pos'sible that hostilities may spread furthe^- south wfith the result that normal cransportation facihties from Shanghai may be disruptedAlso with the approach of winter anu the increasin^'ly acute shortage" of 'foodsupplies and fuel, those remaining in Shanghai and environs may be sub-. jected to undue hardships.
