.■ w Riflemen Have Pleasant Day On Range ' On Saturday the Levin Defence Rifie Club held its annual presentation of trophies on their range. In addition to two^ teams from Hautere, a pleasing number of visitors Were present. The Hautere A team beat Levin; by_ the narrow margin of three points. At the luncheon adjournment Hautere had a formidable lead of 10 points. Levin, however, fought back well in the second round to make the final score 436 against Hautere's 439. The Hautere B team shot very well, their total of 431 being 21 ahead of the Levin B team's 452. Several of the visitors wenL dOwn- to the mound, Mrs. P. Humphrey's shoot being especially noteworthy. Her card read 5,4,4,5,5,5,5,5,4,3—45. Shortly after lunch the club president called on the president of the Horowhenua Pafle Associa- 1 tio n, Mr. F. W. Monk. Mr. Monk congratulated the i Levin Club on its successful sea- 1 sOn, both in club shooting and in' the open championship meetings. 1 He also congratulated trophy win-j ners and thanked Levin for the opportunity given to Hautere to be present.
