Received Tuesday, 7 p.m. LONDON, Nov. 2. A captured German destroyer of " strange design which. has been a . dopkside guineapig fpr inore than three years, is soon to be commismissioned by the Royal Navy, states the Daily Express. She is H.M.S. Nonsuch. Though the Anglo-German naval treaty of 1935 rated her as a de, stroyer displacing 2650 tons, naval experts found her to be a 3500-ton unarmoured light ' erui^er with 5.0inch guns which is a heavier gun than Britain's improved Dido cruisers • carry, Her engines were found to develop 70,000 horsepower against the 62,000 horsepower of those of British cruisers^ so that her speed would be . 36 knots or more. The Nonsuch is a high-speed gun plati'orm capable of wiping out the newest heavy British destroyers. Her Secret, adds the Express, was that extra fighting power was obtained at the sacrifice of crew accommodation.
