United Nations Vote on Death Penalty
PARIS, Oct. 19. The United Nations Assembly's Social Committee rejected Russia' s proposal for world-wide abolition Oi. the death penalty in peacetime by 21 votes to 9, with 18 abstentions. The committee voted by 36 to none, with 12 abstentions, to approve the original proposal, which stated ' ' everyone has the -right to life, liberty, and security of person."
