Poor Shooting At Opening Practice
A practice shoot at 300 yards was held on Saturday to mark the opening of the Levin Defence Rifle Club's new season. Though conditions were fair, the shooting was generally poor. R. Rolston (93) and R. Gurney (92) handed in the best cards. Detailed scores were: — S. C. Aanensen 44 — 48 — 92, L. Anyan 44 — 47 — 91, J. F. Bryce 41—36—77, L. Barkla 38, F, Catley 39—44—83, R. Catley 40—37—77, R. Cole 42—41— 83, M. F. Fletcher 44—44—88, F. J. Graham 37 14 81, J. L. Graham 43 — 46 — 89, K. A. Graham 45 — 41 — 86, R. G. Gurney 45—47—92, J. Horn 36, W. Knowles 27, S. L. Lumsden 39 — 43 — 82, W. McKenzie 39 — 43—82, G. C. McKenzie 42—44 — 86,,R. Rolston 47—46—93, C. W. Tait 42—39—81 and R. Wehipeihana 42 — 45 — 87. Next Saturday 15 members will participate in the championship shoot at Hautere, while the club range will be open to other members. The annual presentation of trophies will 'be made bn the range on October 30.
