The New Zealand bred Count Cyrano tailed the field eariy but ■1 strong finishing effort was able to beat all but the winner. An outsider. Bolivia, almost' eaused an upset in the Randwick Plate by staying with the leader Dark Alarne and t'hon nosing in front with half a fur- j long to go, only to be beaten on the | post bj' Silver Link.
