CHRISTCHURCH, Oct. 8. * The abolition of restrictions 011 the sale of' cream was advocated at a meeting o.f the" Christchurch Metropolitan Milk Board this at'iernoon. The Board decided to write to the Minister • of industries and Commerce (Hon. A. H. N ordmeyer ) asking tliat the Government reconsider the rationing of cream. During the discussion members held that if ,Athe spie of ..cream were made lbgal/Yiphnore^^f'Ould be sold than was "nbw ^oid;' illegpliy. v'Mr;' R/Oc Brbwu said inspectors did not catch more than 2 per cent. of the . offenders. .Many milk vendors who bought rounds were told by custoniers that the previous milkman had left cream and that unless they did the same changes would occur. The traffic was illegal and it was not fair to the hotiest milkman. Another member said the iiresent restrictions did not niean one extra pound of butter for Britain. ' ' There is a rationing order in force," said Mr. II. KitsOn. ' ' IIow mucli do ive really know about liow it aifects Britain? It is an olfence to take cream from a milkman, tkerefore we are now making it known that we in Christchurch are dealing in the black market and that we are not even tolerablv honest in earrying out the proper regulations given out by the proper. authorities. If wc take a broad view that the people in Christchurch want the order' revoked well and good, but to talk about the black market is not doing Christchurch anv good. ' 5
