.Good Tone At Manawatu Spring Sale eharacterised by an extrerriely good .tone throughoht and benches of bjiyers overflowing in the .two sale rings, the twentieth anniversary Manawatu national spring sale of stud and dairy, bulls at the Showgrounds, Palmerston North, yesterday, create'd an Australasian record f.or the number of beasts put through in one day, The ohering eonsisted of 336 bulls, this number being made up * by 264 Jerseys, 27 Mfiking jShort'horns, 20 Ayrshires and1 25 Friesians, and ahhopgh ihis was Uhe -greatest number ever handled in New Zealand. the whole offering received keen support from pY# iOOO prospeetive buyers. A generai indicatlon of the tone can be gaugcd from the fact tfiat a number of prospeetive buyers were trying vainly to procure bulls right up to the end of the sale. Highest pri&e of the sale went to Miss M. J. Larsen (Cheltenham) -vVhen she sold Boltohoa Design Hinkley, a two-year-o'ld Jersey, for 105 guxneas, The sale wa.s r-onducted by the New Z.ealsj.jid Loan and Mereantile Agency Company, Ltd., and those responsible 'for the exeellent organisation included Messrs H.
