Rugby Union Makes Gift Of Ambulance

DUNEDIN, Oct. (J. The gift of a new fullv equipped ambulance to the Otago Centre of the Order of St. John is announced by the Otago Rugby Union. Releasing the information this morning, Mr. H. L. Patterson, Otago president of the Order, said the Rugby Union had expfessed a desire to confer a benefit wliich- would serve every section of the community. Oonfirming the. gift, M r. It. S. Botting, president of the Union, said it was designed as a recognition of the service given by the St. John Ambulance Brigade and the Union wished it to be regarded as an appreciation on behalf of all who played summer and winter games. The new amlmlance will cost approximalely £1500 and Mr. Botling said the union 's eoutribution would be into four iigures,
