Motorist Charged Following Schoolboy's Death
MASTERTON, Oct. 6. Charged with having driven a car negligently , and causing death, John Francis Wedderburn, aged' 34, veterinary surgeon, of Featherston, was committed to the Supreme Court, Wellington, for trial when he appeared in the Martinborough Magistrata's Court yesterday. A plea,of not -guilty was enteredv The charge arose from an accident at the intersection of the East Coast and Martinborough-Pirinoa majn highways on the afternoon of August 30. Following on the accident, a cyclist, Kevin Francis Hudson, aged 12, a schoolboy, died in hospital from injuries. Bail of £100 in his own recognisance was granted.
