Between races on ' Saturday, Mr. J. J. Maher, M.P., made presentations to the connections of Nightena, Mr. H.' J. Eatwell (owner), Mr. J. J. Waller (trainer) and J. P. Bowness (jockey). Mr. Maher explained that the presenta, tion was a delayed one, trophies having been attached to a race run at the previous meeting of the Otaki Maori Racing • C-up. This race had been run in j'divisions, division winners being iNightena and Gay Fellow. The Jspeaker added that it was a generous and truly sporting gesture on the part of the ciub, that ; aithough the fate of the trophies had been deci'ded on the day the race was run, they had procured duplicates of the handsome siiver j cup, travelling bag and whip, whxch had been awarded to the connections of Gay Fellow, and he extended congratulations to the irecipients of the duplicates. j Mr. Eatwell, in acknowledging 'the presentations, returned thanks to the club and to Mr. Maher for his kind remarks.
