Charged By Boar
Caught by the charge of a wild boar during mustering operations at the Wharanui station, Marlborough; during thd weekend, Mr. Peter Murray, son of the stationowner, Mr. LeiceSter Murray, suffered- injuries, necessitating his removal to hospital. . Accompanied by the head shepherd, Mr. A. Manning, Mr. Murray was two miles in the back country when a mob of pigs was encountered. „ 4 large boar treed- Mr. Manning, but Mr. Murray was unable to find anything more substantial than a' small ngaio tree. He could not reach safety before the boar charged and ripped him in the right shin and thigh. Mr. Murray's condition was reported as satisfactory. , The Wellington Housewives' Association has decided to forwai'd a resoliitiofi to the Gbvernment aBking for the reinstatement of eapital punishtnent. It is opening a list of signatures to a petition in support of the resolution.
