At the) annual meeting of the West Coast (North Island) Ama•teur Athletic Centre, held.. at Wanganui last night, Mr. W.' F. Cribb, president of- the LevimCombined Amateur Athletic and Cycling Club, was elected a centre vice -president and Mr. F. D. Chainey was appointed a selector for athletics. * His Excellency' the GovernorGeneral, Sir Bernard Freyberg, conducted an investiture at Palmerston North last night. Recipients of awards from the Horowhehua district were: — Civil division: Mr. L. J. Wild (Otaki), Officer of the Order of the British Empire. Military division: Lieut.Colonel L. J. Hunter (Levin), Officer of the Order of the British Empire; S/Sgt. N. F. CaHesen (Shannon), Military Medal; jLeading Seaman E. Martin (Levin), British Empire Medal; Capt. F. O. Burtt (Shannon) , Efliciency Medal.
