Vagrant Imprisoned For Bicycle Theft
Described by Se^geant W. Grainger to be of the vagrant type and to have had many prCvious convictions, Cyril Potter, of no fixed abode, was. yesterday sentenced to three months' imprisonmient for the theft of a bicycle at Palmerston North, the property of soW person or persons unknown. It was stated by Sergeant Grainger that accused had been arreSted by Constable A. T. Kelk in the vicinity of Waitarere yesterday. He had in his possessiOn the bicycle, which he admitted having sfcolen. ' Accused appealed to the ben'ch for another chance, but the benc'h, which comprised JVIessrs. 3. S. Moir and M. De L. Wright, J.P's., stated tt appeared that accused had had many chances and had not availed himself of them.
