Since May, 1946, when its aetivities commenced 1 ton 2 cwt. 6 lbs. of food has been posted to the United Kihgdom. At 'the post office yesterday afternoon, the counter * clerk was hidden behind a pile of parcels which towered well above his head. Inquiries revealed that they were being consigned -by "Vhe Queen Street Hall. When the secretary of the church's, food 'par-: eels committee, Mrs. M. E. Falloon, was interviewed, she told "The Chronicle" representative that they Were going to members of sister churches in the) United Kingdom. This organisation's effort leaves no doubt as to„what can be done to help. The funds for the parcels are collected from voluntary subscriptions and no appeal is made to the outside public. A box is placed inside the church and any person who wished to make a contribution may do so. The work involved in packing the parcels is done by members of the committee and must be fully compensated for by the gratefulness with which the food is received in the homes on the other side of the world.
