Church Guild's Afternoon
The Paraparaumu Beach brancli of St. . Pauks Anglican Church' Guild held a very happy aftefhoon party at the home1' of Mrs. G. Sweetman, Paraparaumu Beach, recently. A saies table 'hel'd a very pleasing array, of- sale'able goods, which sold rapidly. An interesting competition'.' was held in which each drdw a slip of paper from a hat and .did as the directions instructed or paid a for-i feit. The competition for a shopping basket was won by Miss R. Ciarkson. Mrs. C. Banks gave1 an interesting demonstration on making toys from felt. All were charmed at the array .of soft t.oys. display e'd. A large box of felt novelt.es just arrived from Eng-. land was on exhibition, and was the centre of much interest. Afternoon tea was served and the party was voted an outstanding success. •
