Polar Flight As Highlight For Royal Tour
PERTH, Oct. 1. The airman, Paul Rayniond Whiteof New Zealand, is hopeful of further exploits. A suggestion that ft world Polar flight be conducted with Perth as the starting point has been announced by a well-known Perth citizen, Mr. (!. L. K. Foot, who for vears lias been in the forefront of an agitation for an Indiau Ocean air route from tlie West Australian coast to Africa and Kngland as an alternative fo tlie existing route. Au experimental survev of this route will be made shortly. Mr. Foot considers it would be ah appropritate gesture if when the Royal Family is in Australia a South Polar round the world flight should be made with Perth as the start point. Irnmediatelv this idea was publicised Mr. Whitehead had his applicatiou in and saw Mr. FcTOt personally. He was informed that his claim would be favourably considered.
