Ten pounds in idi was stolen from the till and they lso took £5 front a tin containing the hristmas fund. i'he manager, Al r. R. Eeazlev, who lives in a flat aliove the office, was nwakeued by the thieves as they moved about the office iu their search for ""mey. He immediately went down stairs and on entering the office saw a man about to change into a snit which

had been sent to the depot for cleaning. Mr. Beazely challenged the thief and the man ran out of the office and down the street. Although only clad * in his p.vjamas and barefooted Mr. Beazley chased tlie man for some distanee but lost hirn in the darkness. Mr. Beazley returned to the office and was checking the till about ten minutes later when he saw the man whom he had chased, talldng to another man across the street. He ran out and chased the men again but they separated and made olf. The. thieves entered the office by forcing a window with a crowbar. They broke into an upholstery business in the sam« block while searching for money but nothing was stolen.
