Before the House rose this afternoon, Mr. Fraser replying to Mr. Holland said that a statement giving his (the Prime Minister 's) views on ' world affairs which would he among the matters to he discussed at the meeting in London of Commonwealth Prime Ministers and that in Paris of the General Assembly of UNO. would he made hefore he left New Zealand at the end of this month, Mr. Holland said that if the Prime Minister felt he cottld make a considered statement about his mission before he left he was sure- it would he welcomed hy the House and the coimtry. The statement need not necessarily he followed hy a debate. Mr. Fraser said he had proposed to ask the House to permit him to make a statement about the conference of Prime Ministers and the important matters which confronted the world. He would he glad of the opportunity to make such a statement and if necessary a discussion could follow. In fact he thought it was his duty to do so hecaitse important decisions that would have to he made in this country depended to a large extent on what was done in England. No official decisions would he made there, but there must be a general interchange of opinion so far as the British Commonwealth was concerned, and it was only right that Parliament, the people and the coimtry should kitow his own outlook. The same applied to the Paris talks.
