WELLINGTON, Sept. 16. Researeh Department. The selection will be eompetitive. The minimum edueational qualification is university entrance and applieants will sit a speeial bursaries examination eonducti'd by the Education Department. A subsistenee allowance of £70 for the University year, will be payable plus a lodging allowance of £40 if the bursar is required to live away from home. All tuition fees and cost of standard text books, will be met. The period of the Imrsarv will be that required for the joinpletion of a bachelor 's degree but in cases of special merit an extension to eover the master's degree will be granteds _ __
