Sunken Liners To Be Raised For Scrap

LONDON, Sept. 14. Mereliantmen suuk in the battles of the Mediterranean, including those in the Halta convoys, are to be raised. Some will be towed 1500 miles to Britain to provide materials for new ships and to aid British industrv. This salvaging is a reflection of the urgent demand for scrap needed to nmintain British steel production. Salvage equipment and'plant for cutting up boml) damaged shipping, has already been sent to Malta where most of the tonnage cannot l)e refloated.
