RAHUI THIRDS SCORE AGAIN
The curtain raiser provided at Otaki by Rahui and Red Star (Masterton) , thirds saw Rahui victors by 9 points to 0. Red Star were possibly feeling the effects of their long trip, as although the weight advantage was theirs, they could not top off the opportunities which came their way. The home backs gave their customary sound display and the honours were with them. Early in the first spell W. Royal, taking a nice pass, dummied beautifuily three times and crossed near the corner flag. Cook missed the kick. Rahui continued to attack and were awarded a penalty under the goal posts. Royal sent over an easy kick, making the score 6 — 0. Rain started at this stage and pia'y"W£te' stihT in"the 'Visitors1 territory when the spell ended. Rahui held their opponents for the major portion of the second half, Red Star showing up late, mainly because Rahui backs were content to go on the defensive. A forward rush near the end of the game saw Davis effect a . handy punt for D. Walker to add another try, and the game ended, Rahui 9, Red Star 0. Mr. L. Barrett was referee.
