Defence Pact For Sweden, Norway And Denmark
LONDON, Sept. 10. The, Swedish Foreign Offiee announced that the Foreign Ministers c of Sweden, Norway and Denmark at a meeting decided to ask their Governhients to appoint experts to investigate the possibility of the joint defence of Scandinavia. The Daily Telegraph's Sto.ckholm eorrespondent says the decision is the first concrete step toward a military alliance. The communiciiie stated that the three Ministers agreed that a military assistance pact would be an advantage to the Nordic cotmtries. It is expected that joint staff talks will he held later "between the Norwegians and Swedes. The agreemept is regarded as a triumph for Norway whose Foreign Minister (Mr. Lange) last week ttrged Sweden to take practical steps for a Nordic pact.
