Shannon's Water Supply • At" the fortnightly meeting of the ( Shannon Borough Council held on Tues'day evening, the proposed water supply scheme " was discussed. Cr. L. G. Sayer, chairman jof the works committee, presented his report on the matter ■and it was agreed that the opinion of the ratepayers be obtained before going further with -theproposal. The town clerk was directed to forward a circular letter to all- ratepayers. . ' - Crossing Warning Deviees The subj.ect of a warning device at the railway crossing from Grey to Sheehan Streets came up for discussion at the September meeting of the Shannon School Committee, when it was resolved to write to the borough council on the matter. The council has made representations to the Railways Department concerning the matter, when the department stated that owing tp a shortage of materials a warning device could not be erected at this crossing. As the crossing is a very dangerous one, it . is hoped that with the school committee's help something can be done.
