Detectives Chosen To Go To Australia
INVERCARGILL, Sept. 9. Chief Detective J. Gibson, officer in charge of the detective branch at invercargill, has been selected by the Commissioner of Police to visit Australia under the agreement for a tetnporary exchange of police officers between ^ustralia and New Zealand. The agreement was ineorporated in thc Police Force Act last year and this is the lirst time it has been put into operation. Four officers from New Zealand have been selected. Chief Detective Gibson, who will lead the delegation, will be aecompanied by Detective Sergeant W. R. -Fell, of Aucldand, and two menibers of the women 's division of. the Police Force. They will sail from Dunedin early next weelc by the steamer Temple Inn. The party will undergo a course of police work in one of the principal centres in Australia and will be absent from New Zealand for three months.
