New Paralysis Cases In Wellington
WELLINGTON, Sept. (1. Three new cases of poliomyelitis were reported in the Wellington health district today. They were a lioy aged eight from the Ilutt A'alley, a boy ;iged six from Wellington and ti mati of 1!) from Masterton. All lL' cases reported on Saturday were from Wellington and the Ilutt Valley areas. The Wellington cases wero a girl aged ld. a boy tiged four. a girl aged ld months, a girl of ld and liusband and wife both aged I'd. Ilutt A'alley caftes wero a girl aged eight, a girl aged i'our, a boy aged oue year, ;u girl of ld, a boy aged four and a girl of 10. It was expeeted that all sehools which had been elosed this Week. would reopen next week, said Dr. Ilubert Smith, District Officer of Health, today. He said that the closing had been merely an additional precau tion to allow children who had a 1 ready had a forlnight awav from eontact with other children, to have an additional week. The colleges would also opeh next week.
