Idle Waikato Mines Will Resume Tuesday

AUCKLAND, Sept. 5. Work Avill resume in the Macdonald, Glen Afton, and Pukemiro mines on Tuesday. By a three to one majority, the strikers from the idle mines decided at a meeting in Huntly on .Saturday morning to accept a proposal by the Minister of Mines that they return to work and refer the dispute to the Coal Mines Council. They have undertaken to start work the day after the council reaches a decision and tos ! abide by that decision whether it is in^ tlieir favour or not. The council arrived at Huntly iate Saturday night and tomorrow morning will visit the Macdonald mine where the dispute originated on August 11.* In the afternoon the council will meet the mine management and strikers' committee and give its- decision. 1 '
