People Flee When Volcano Erupts

Received. Sunday, 7 p.m. „ MANILA, Sept. 4. Reports reaching Manila say that at least 15 were kiijed in the four-day-old volcanic eruption of Mount Hihok ou Caminguin Island, states the United Press. Every availahle vessel is being rushed to the island to try to evacuate its 52,000 inhabitants. About 25,000 are said to have reached neighboiu'ing islands where they are suifering from food shortages. Thousands are sleeping in the open on the island 's seashore awaiting ships. Hibok, which has been dormant for 77 -jfears, started erupting on Wednesday. Caminguin is 12 miles long and 8 milos wide.
