Maori Sports Teams Play At Taihape
% x \ The annual interchange of visits between Maori people of Levin and Taihape, associated with" which is* the playing 4 of rugby # football and basketball games, took place during the weekend. It was held this year at Taihape, and about 100 MaOrisfrom Levin journeyed there by buses and ears. The following are the results of •the games' played, the Levin teams being mentioned first in each instance : — Basketball Kotahitanga 8, Huia 6; Kotahitanga 6, Taihape. 9; Punahau 4? Hu;a 4; Punahau 4, Taihape 19. Football: Punahau 6, Huia 20. . On the marae at .Mowhangq Pa, where the visitors were entertained, " the proceedings showed a refreshing revival "of Maori customs, which is thq primary purpose of ,the gathering each year. The Levin party was royally entertained and the weekend proved most enjoy able.
