A short olfering of ex-dairy sorts did not exeite very niuch competition, a cow selling. at £9 17s 6d and a lieifer at £11- 12s 6d. Station Cattle Something over 409 head of station cattle came forward to attract a large attendance pf the public. In the matter of condition most of the entries reflected an iinprovement and generally were in good order. Grown cattle- found the market quite firm and while several entries were passed in the saies feeordod were at iig'ures in keepihg with latf' quotations and the quality. The best price for aged bullocks was £17 5s, paid for a pen of 12 Herefords on account of the II. E. Hunt Estate. A like number of Shorthorn bullocks changed liands at! £17. The sale' opened on a pen of 62; 3 and 4-yr A.A. bullocks which. were traded at £16 15s. Three and 4-yr. bullocks on account of Mr. A. H. Maurice, in store condition, commanded good eompetition, 45 Herefords selling at £14 16s and 39 Aberdeen Angus at £14 10s. Other saies of 3 and 4-yr bullocks were made as follow: 19 A.A. at £15 3s, 25 A.A. at £16 5s, 2S A.A. at~£14 15s, 6 at £12 6s; 2-vr steers, 16 at £12; yearing steers, 29 A.A. at £8 Is, 2.1 A.A. and Hereford cows'at £9 19s; 6 empty A.A. cows at £6 10s, 2 Jersey' steers at £7. ,10s. , 1 Dairy Cattle Dairy cattle came fdhvard in moderate numbers to meet with a steacly sale. The quality was rather variabie and values fluetuated accordingly. The saies were: Springing cows £4 10s, £5, £6 10s, £7 5s, £12 10s to £14 10s; springing heifers £6 5s, £7 15s, £S 15s, £9. £9 5s, £9 10s, £9 17s 6d, £10 5s, £10 10s, £11, £11 5s, £11 10s, £12, £13, £13 5s, £13 10s, £14, £14 10s, £15 10s,. £16, £17; yearling heifers £2 17s 6d, £4 7s 6d, £4 19s, £6 5s, £6 17s, £7 9s, £9 7s to £10 10s; heifers in milk £7 10s, £8 5s, £12 10s to £14 10s.
