FENCING OF DISUED PIT

W.

SEDDON,

Sir, — We are pleased to find that the .Levin Borough C'ouncil has taken steps and fenced the Kent Street pit, thus lessening the danger to. young children in the area. This matter has been the. concern of our association for the last six months, when in February a Press report appeared in "The Chronicle" following ' a general meeting of our association. Later -in July a letter was -forwarded to the council asking for action to be taken in this matter, and it is appreciated that the council gave it prompt attention. Yours etc.,

Acting Secretary, Ratepayers' Association. Levin, Sept. 2. \ _________
