Bowey and Mr. and Mrs. T. W. Synnott, all of whom have been visiting Taranaki and Wanganui, returned to Otaki on Monday night. Wool Board Election The election of producer representatives on the Wool Board was held last week, Mr. W. Horrobin, of Waikanae, and Mr. H. J. Wardell, of Kurow, being re-elected. Vital Statistics Mr. C. G. An'derson, registrar, advises that for the month of August, 11 European and one Maori birth were registered at Otaki and two deaths. Eight marriage notices were issued. Show Schedules Available Schedules for the Otaki Horticultural and Daffodil Society's spring show are now available from 'The Chronicle" Offiee, Otaki, and leading stores. The show is to be held on Priday, September 10, at the Raukawa Hall. Entries close on Thursday next at 5 p.m. Rugby Curtain-raiser As a curtain-raiser to the representative rugby game at Otaki Domain on Saturday, September 11, Rahui thifds will play Red Star of Masterton at 1.15 p.m. The Visitors will be treated to Rahui's customary generous hospitality, and a dinner i$ being arranged for the evening. •
