Although not anxioris to publicise its investigations at the moment, .Bcotland Vard niakes no secrct 'of the fact tha, the diseoverv of hidden explosives in a house in London's Kast End on August 2s, uncovered secret Jewish terrorist links with this counfrv. At least three members of the gang are known to the British police and are now being followed by special branca (letectives. AJl of them vanished sudilenlv from their usual liannts in the Kast End soon after the jiolice raided a house iu Gravel Lane, Houndsditch. One man who was arrested'at the time of the raid, has been remanded tintil next Mondav. Evidence against Jewish terrorists operating in Britain, has been accunmlating in Scotland Yard tiles for the pasl two years. During. this ])eriod several agents of ihe Irgun Zvai Leumi are known to have seeretlv visited Britain in order to recruit voung .Tews who were pre]>ared to operate undi-r their orders. A nnmber of men ajn proached refused to cooperate and some others were later disearded by the Irgun as unreliable. It is known, however, that a gang of about 15 had for some time been taking orders from the Irgun and aecumulating explosives. Vahiable infonuation bearing upcm these activities, came to light when the police investigated the Earran bomh outrage and enabled Scotland Yard to i'orestall the terrorists' plans. The police are now following certain lines of inrpiiry which they believe will clis"lose where the explosives stored at Houndsditch came from.
