Pretty Bride And Retinue Of Three
A very pretty wedding was solemnised recently at the St. Mary's Anglicdn Church, Levin, when Naomi elder daughter of Mr. and Mrs. O. J. Doyle, of Shannon, was married to Thomas Harold, sbn of Mr. and Mrs. H. J. Lancaster, of Levin. Tne Rev. G. B. StoteBlandy- offlciated. The church was prettily decorated by friends of the bride with i red camellias, japonica and spring bulbs. The bride, . escorted by -her father and three attendants, l'ooked charming in a gown ,of which the tight-fitting satin bodice was made with a rounded lace yoke and outlined with a tiny pleated frill. The full lace skirt, scolloped from the bodice, fell to form a long train. Her embroidered veil was h-eld' in place by a coronet of white feather flowers and fell to form a second train. The bride's bouquet was composed of winter roses, stock and maidenhair fern.
The bride's attendants were Misses Josephine Doyle . (sister) , Pauline Brown and Pauline Kilsby. They were attired in scarlet embossed taffeta v/ith silk net over dresses of the same colour., The bodice was made with cape sleeves and a semi-heart neckline outlined with a pleated frill, while the. full skirt from a pointed waistline. They also wore white net elbow-length mittens and -in their hair were ■ coronets of .red and white feather ' flowers. Their bouquets were of camellias, daphne, lachenalias and maidenhair fern. The bridegroom was attended by Mr. Challis Mark as best man 1 and Me'ssrs. George Hudson and ; Ian Campbell as groomsmen. | During the signing of the regis- - ter, Miss Margaret Irving sang : | "All Joy Be Thine." Upon leaving ' the church, the bride was.present- ; ed' with lucky horse shoes by Jean | Curtis, her cousin,' and Peter RolL ston, a nephew of the bridegroom. • At the reception h-eld later, over 100 guests were received by Mr. ' and Mrs. Doyle, the latter wearmg 1 a "black suit and black accessories } with a lemon eorsage. They were " assi.sted by Mr. and Mrs. Lancas- { ter, Mrs. Lancaster wearing a teal 5 suit and wine accessories with a
eorsage to tone. -The happy couple were the recipients of many beautiful presents. * When they left by car fdr a tour ' of the North Island, the bride was wearing a powder blue coat over a dusky pink frock with navy accessories and a single string of pearls, the gift of the bridegroom. -Jjfteir future home will be in Levin. i
