Tlie fortnlghtly meeting of the | Shannon Borough Council w'as | held recently when the Mayor ] (Mr. D. A. Fitzgerald) presided jover Crs. B. Clayton, V. J, Bateman, H. L. Norris, R. ,S. Dowiies, C. M. Cfonquest, L. G. Sayer and C. G. Wlshart. An apology was received from Cr. H. Aitehison. P-ermission was granted to Mr. L. A. Hook, Stout Street, to move ;a garage from an adjoining seGition to his property. j The borough ranger reported i that during the nionth of August, 26 head of stock was fouhd wahdering on the borough streets. I]t was resolved that the chairmaii oi1 the works committee, Cr. Sayer, contact the ranger regardlng taking action in connection with future wandering stoclc. * The chairman of the-: ceitietery and reserves committee, Cr. Clayton, reported that the reeentlypurcha'sed motor mower wai doing excellent work and was a considerable time saver. Authority- for certain repairs to be carrled. out at the cemetery was granted. Accounts a-mounting ' to £82 10s 2d were passed for payment.
