Relief From Pool Funds Suggested
WELLINGTON, Sept. 1. A suggestion tliat if all farming memlier.s of Parliament agreed, Parliament might override Federated Farmers, the kfeat Board and Dairy Board, and give some relief from the pooj funds to farmers 011 marginal land, was made. by Mr. P. Ivearins (Waimarino) in tlie Ilouse this afternoon. Mr. Kearins, who was frequently uiterrupted, in a brief speeeh said those working on marginal land faced serious problems. Mr. Ormond Wilson, speaking shortly after Mr. Ivearins, *said he believed that tlie three bodies mentioued wrefe slowlv moA'ing toivards the action re- ' commended by Mr. Kearins. Mr. K. J. ilolvoake said that, speak ing as a farmer 011 marginal country, the loss to farmers dependent for most of tlieir iucome on the sale of Wool, would far outweigh the losses from higher prices for fertiliser— probab'ly by ten times as mucli.
