; ^ . PPTSOtlH) Canon- H. E. K. Fry, of the vicarage, Otaki, is visiting Wellington, and expects to be away .until towards the end of the week. Mr. ,and Mrs. Walter Taylor and family, of Otaki Railway, accompanied by Mrs. Ken. Taylor, of Mil!l Road, Otaki, have left to spend a week in Napier. Help for Orete Attention is drawn to a plea in the advertising columns for any articles' of clothing or the like to be forwarded to Cretans. Many will remember the untold hardships endured and kindnesses exoended to our fighting men by Cretans, and a band of women in Petone are meeting often to mend garments, knit jerseys and help in any way they can to try and repay a little of what they consider New Zealand owes Orete. Letters to hand reveal that CORSO does not provide for Orete, with the result that the need is most urgent. Anyone who would like to help is asked to 'phone 205 (Otaki) for further particulars.
