Koputaroa W.I. Holds Social Evening
In place of their usual monthly meeting, members of the Koputaroa Women's Institute entertained husbands an'd friends at a , social and. dance in the Koputaroa Hall this month. 1 Members of the committee,*' which comprises Mesdames Ching, Brown, Thompson and A. Koberstein, Junr., gave the hadl a most testive appearance with stream^sT balloons, gay window boxes an'd bowls of daffodils and japonica. A play, "In the Fog," by Gertrude Jennings, was presented by Mesdames Lancaster, Hood, Brown, Stratton and Firby, while during the evening Mrs. Firby rendered two delightful vocal solos, "My Ain Folk" and "Because." A waltzing competition was wo,n by Mr. and Mrs. Elderson. Mr. O. Pratt won the prize for the lucky cup and in a name compdtition Mrs. Koberstein, Junr., was the successful lady, . Mr. F. Judd winning the men's ; section. A most- enjoyable supper was served by the ladies. The presi- i dent, Mrs. Pene, was M.C.
