BULLER OUTCLASSES NELSON
WESTPORT, August 21. With the forwards-setting a fast pace after the first few minutes, Buller scored the easiest of wins in a Seddon Shield" match agaihst Nelson at Westport today, by 22 to nil, making their
record in three matches playeff so far this' season for the trophv, to 72 pomts for and 6 against. Although they often got the ball from the set scrums, the Nelson back line was almost impotent against the brilliant oppositiou, with the Buller captain, O. Small holme, in brilliant form at seeond _five-eighths. R. Hawes (winger), W. Dickson (first five) and Luff (half) also played well. Hawes was easily tlie best of the wingers and made some great runs from openings usually made by Smallholme. In the home paek-, W. Munn was outstanding and- scored two. great tries. G. Anderson and M. Ryan were also better than any Nelson packmen. For Nelson, J. -Bryant (fullbaek), G. Turner (second five) and the Bax brothers in the pack, were the best players in a badly beaten team. For Buller, Mumm (2), Anderson, C. McHerron and M. Ryan scored tries, McHerron converting two and Dickson kieking a field goal.
