Hockey Ground In Poor State
Two ' visiting ladies' hockey teams were in attendance at the Otaki Domain on Saturday and they both suffered defeat. Raukawa B team proved victors over Xjevin by nine goals to three an'd College suffered defeat at the hands of Raukawa A by seven to nil. • . Members of all teams complained at the state of the grou'n'd, the grass being too Tong. Actually there were numerous minor casualties and it was fortunate that no players suffered severe injuries. Players were unanimous that to get the ball to travel at all undercutting was necessary, an'd this was the reason given for the unusually la.rge number of "smacks" the players suffered. As games both contests were unexciting, the hard hitting tactics and better combination, under difficult conditions, of the two home teams was too much for the visitors.
