The Grand National meeting was concluded at Riccarton on Saturday under ideal eonditions, .the weather being fine and the trac'k in splendid order. The raciiig was good throughout and the ' favoqrites won seven of the nine races. The Lincoln Steeplechase was won by Arabian Night and later his rider, L. C. Brown, who rode him into second place in the .Grand National Steeplechase ' after being without stirrups for the last two miles, was presented with a cheque .as an expression of the club's appreciation of his game effort. After the runninghf the Sydenham Hurdles, Mr. E. R. Gurtis, rider of JBoolamskee, was given a great receptioh as he rode back to weigh in.
